Alfred WONG (b.1979)

Alfred Wong received his bachelor and master degree in the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He studied composition with Prof. Chan Wing-wah, piano with Dr. Cheng-wai, percussion with Dr. Lung Heung-wing, conducting with Ho Man-chuen. He got CASH Scholarships twice, some of his works have been performed worldwide such as England, America, Sweden, Australia, Russia, Singapore, Malaysia, mainland, Taiwan and Macau. His work Echoes was shortlisted for the finals of the International Competition for Chinese Orchestral Composition 2006 organized by the Singapore Chinese Orchestra, and his organ solo piece Flame was selected to be performed on International Society for Contemporary Music World New Music Days 2009. Wong has made a hundred more arrangements, and he is often commissioned by the Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra.

As a conductor, he has been collaborated with different music groups such as Windpipe ensemble, Yao Yueh Chinese Orchestra, HKUSTSU Chinese Orchestra, Alethia Wind Ensemble and Tertiary Students' Ensemble, and recently he was invited as a guest conductor in the 8^th Sabah Chinese Music Festival. He is currently teaching courses at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, the associate degree program of the HKIEd and HKU SPACE. He is now a member of CASH, Hong Kong composers’ Guild, the artist associate of Hong Kong Festival Wind Orchestra and the guest conductor of Hong Kong YWCA Chinese Orchestra.

黃學揚畢業於香港中文大學音樂系，獲文學士(榮譽)學位及音樂碩士(作曲)學位；隨陳永華學習作曲，鄭慧博士學習鋼琴，龍向榮博士學習敲擊及何文川先生學習指揮。他曾兩度獲香港作曲家及作詞家獎學金，部分作品於英國、美國、瑞典、俄羅斯、紐西蘭、澳洲、新加坡、馬來西亞、內地、台灣及澳門等地演出。其作品《迴》曾入選新加坡華樂團國際作曲大賽2006決賽，管風琴曲《焰》入選國際現代音樂節2009。黃氏編寫百多首樂曲，其中亦常為香港中樂團編曲。

此外，他經常擔任指揮工作，曾與竹韻小集、樂樂國樂團、香港科技大學學生會中樂團、亞莉提亞管樂團、香港大專生樂團等藝團合作，亦曾應邀到沙巴擔任第八屆沙巴華樂節客席指揮。他現於香港演藝學院、香港教育學院副學士及香港大學專業進修學院教授課程。現為香港作曲家及作詞家協會會員、香港作曲家聯會會員、香港節日管樂團駐團藝術家及香港女青中樂團客席指揮。
